SRT has once again demonstrated that it has its place among the cutting-edge formations in European GT competitions. The Brussels team took part in the ninth and tenth rounds of the GT4 European Series on the Nürburgring circuit in Germany, with Luca Bosco and Maxime Soulet offering a fifth consecutive podium to the Selleslagh family’s training at the wheel of their ‘green’ Mercedes-AMG GT4. At the wheel of the team’s ‘yellow’ Mercedes-AMG GT4, we found a new duo, with Moritz Kranz and Jakub Knoll, who finished twice in fourth place, which is a superb result for a first collaboration between the German and the Polish, who discovered the Mercedes-AMG GT4 of the Belgian team. In a good month, the final of the GT4 European Series will be on the SRT program, and in Barcelona, the objective will be to win the two vice-champion titles, including Luca Bosco’s.
SRT is taking part again this season in the GT4 European Series, and represents Mercedes-AMG in this high-flying European competition. Luca Bosco is the regular driver of the Belgian team in 2021, and after five meetings in a series of six, the young Italian finds himself in 2nd place in the Pro/Am ranking, just like SRT. This weekend, the results could probably have been even better.
“This weekend, we had two very different missions,” explains Patrick Selleslagh. The first was the championship, from the moment we have a good chance of finishing on the final podium, and at the end of this weekend, we score in second place. This is important, both for the team’s motivation and for the future of SRT. We thus demonstrate what we are capable of, and that we have our place at the European level. Maybe there was a way to do better for Maxime Soulet and Luca Bosco, but the Nürburgring is a very technical circuit, not easy to apprehend for a Rookie. But hey, a fifth podium in a row is beautiful. I hope that in Barcelona, we will have the opportunity to close the season with a victory. On the other hand, there was this first collaboration with Moritz Kranz and Jakub Knoll, who, with two fourth places, more than ensured their share of work. For them, everything was new this weekend, and I can only be satisfied. We will now prepare for the championship final, and a week earlier, we will also take part in the FFSA GT4 final on the Paul Ricard Circuit.”
The final races of the 2021 GT4 European Series will take place in Spain, on the Barcelona circuit, on October 9 and 10.
